U.S. Marine Flying Saucer Encounter (December 1963)

Craft Was Seen at an Undisclosed Military Location (3 Hrs by Plane from Cherry Point, North Carolina)

The sighting of a mysterious craft at a classified military base, just a few hours by plane from Cherry Point, North Carolina, continues to intrigue researchers and enthusiasts alike. The details surrounding this event, as recounted by eyewitnesses and supported by additional testimonies, suggest a deliberate cover-up of what could be one of the most significant extraterrestrial encounters in modern history.

The Mysterious Craft:

The craft was surrounded by what appeared to be standard military aircraft scaffolding. A white circle was taped to the floor, outlining the “prohibited area” reserved for Air Force generals. Three to four U.S. Marines guarded the craft while it was temporarily stored in the hangar. The windows of the craft were indented towards the interior, forming a one-inch “up” (see detail view below). The primary eyewitness, “Ra,” a U.S. Marine, secretly took a photograph of the saucer, which was later lost in a flood. Despite a thorough examination by a team of 20 to 50 engineers, they were unable to gain access to the interior of the craft.

Roy Baker’s Notes:

The night after Roy and I first met in 1986, he provided detailed notes with some intriguing addendums:

  • White Line Parameter: The area around the craft that even Air Force generals were prohibited from crossing. Roy mentioned that he personally had to stop the Secretary of the Navy from crossing this line.
  • Flight to an Unknown Base: Roy was flown for 2.5 to 3 hours from Cherry Point, North Carolina, in a military transport with no windows. The destination remains unknown but is presumed to be a U.S. military base, possibly outside the country.
  • Disappearance of the Craft: One day, the craft was gone. Roy mentioned seeing the craft off its blocks and on a flatbed trailer being prepped to move.
  • Final Orders: Roy called the officer of the day (O.D.) who checked his orders and said, “So you guys are relieved.” They then went over to G-2 (base intelligence office) and signed out.

Additional Testimonies:

Len’s Connection:

Len Stringfield, a notable UFO researcher, received a call from Walter Paner, who mentioned seeing a UFO at Wright-Patterson AFB in 1954. Paner stated, “I have seen one… about 1954, at Wright-Patterson AFB. The body was in a round glass container. The skin seemed drawn, and I estimate the size at about 4 feet.” Paner’s account aligns with other testimonies from military personnel who were ordered to forget what they saw, further suggesting a widespread cover-up.

Desmond Bragg’s Academic Inquiry:

Desmond Bragg of Drake University contacted Len to update his book on UFOs as he began teaching a class on the subject. This illustrates the growing academic interest in UFOlogy and the importance of documenting these testimonies.

Detailed Eyewitness Account: Encounter with Col. Wing

On August 22, 1986, the day after receiving Status Report II & IV, I had an interesting encounter with Col. Wing. He revealed that his lifelong friend, Maxon, had stood guard around a UFO years ago while serving in the Marines. Maxon provided detailed descriptions of the craft and even managed to sneak a photograph, which was unfortunately lost in a flood.

Maxon’s Profile:

  • Married with four children and three grandchildren
  • Works as a gardener, does odd jobs, writes poetry, plays chess, and makes wine
  • Not particularly interested in UFO literature but accepts their reality as part of life

Incident Details:

Craft Description:
The craft was silver with a polished aluminum appearance, completely seamless except for hatch-like seams on the lower part, so well-fitted that not even a razor blade could penetrate them. It had no landing gear, fins, exhaust ports, or protrusions of any kind. Windows circled the edge of the craft, appearing as smoked glass with approximately one-inch gaps between them.

Technical Crew’s Attempt: Maxon observed a technical crew attempting to gain entry into the craft. Despite using torches and a high-powered laser device, the metal only became hot without melting, similar to a scene from the movie “Hangar 18.”

Maxon’s Sketch: Maxon drew a detailed sketch of the craft, which included these technical observations.

Final Disappearance:
One day, the craft was removed from the building. Maxon, though not seeing any bodies himself, heard accounts of three bodies being pulled from the craft, standing 39 inches tall with no thumbs.

Conclusion:

Maxon’s account, along with those of other witnesses like Paner and Bragg, adds to the growing body of evidence suggesting a government cover-up of extraterrestrial encounters. The detailed descriptions and corroborating testimonies align with other reported incidents, reinforcing the reality of these phenomena. Despite his limited knowledge of UFO literature, Maxon’s observations provide valuable insights into the ongoing mystery of UFOs and their potential implications.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Eyewitness testimonies remain a crucial source of information in uncovering hidden truths.
  2. Military involvement in these incidents suggests a high level of secrecy and possible disinformation campaigns.
  3. The lack of transparency surrounding these events continues to fuel speculation and mistrust among the public.
